When we are on vacations we are full of expectations: new food to try, new sports to play, new concerts to attend with family and friends. In our city and so many others, those places and events are dispersed in Social Media, newspapers and flyers without reaching their potential.
At Eventour we reunite every event in town, so it doesn’t matter if the business is already known or if it is starting, if the play has celebrities or emerging actors, users can now experience their vacations in a new way.
My main resource to accomplish a successful social app was providing a customized experience based on the user's own preferences and providing social proof: this is a psychological phenomenon where people reference the behaviour of others to guide their own.
Users do consider how others perceive an activity or event by checking the review section and it can remove decision-making uncertainty.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
As the Lead UX Designer, I was responsible for the conceptualization and design of Eventour App.
Working closely with Visual Designers, Business Analysts and devs, we were able to develop an atractive, fun and useful app.
During the initial phase of product definition, we brainstormed the product by making concept maps and fast prototypes of what we were looking to build: Reunite all events in town in one mobile app with a personal user experience.
Moving into research and its analysis, we fill in the blanks by doing benchmarking. As we didn’t find any complexity in the product (social or technical) we made customer surveys to reveal our audience, build personas and user tasks.
From this output wireframes, task-flow diagrams and mockups were created.
